About

Welcome to Senior Help Forum!

In the fall of 2008, they met for lunch and were discussing how difficult and time consuming it has been gathering information to help their aging parents. The more they chatted about their struggles with others, the more it became apparent that many of their friends, family members and colleagues shared their circumstances.

Sharing all of the resources that they have worked so hard to gather just seemed like the right thing to do. Thus, the birth of Senior Help Forum (SHF). SHF is a blog geared toward the sharing of information and resources associated with the aging process and caring for those who need additional support (physical, emotional, and financial) from their family, friends and community at large.

They encourage you to share any resources that you have found to be of help.

About Alan White

Alan is a social researcher by profession.

His parents recently moved to an assisted living community nearby and he’s relieved at not having to worry about his parents for days when they improperly hung up the phone and he was unable to contact them, or make the 250 mile trek, to see if they were all right.

Working on SHF appealed to his sensibilities of, ‘reduce, reuse and recycle’, by creating a place where the discoveries on behalf of his parents can create some greater value by helping someone else.
